The Roche Covid-19 Nasal Rapid Antigen Self Test Kit is a lateral flow test for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antigen in human nasal samples. This test is used to quickly detect SARS-CoV-2 antigens in those requiring to show proof of not having the virus or for those suspected of having COVID-19.
A SARS-CoV-2 antigen test detects the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus from part of the upper respiratory tract swab specimens identifying a nucleoprotein that is carried the virus. The test identifies current infection during the acute phase of COVID-19, while the virus is still present in large quantities in the respiratory tract.
Please note, if a positive result than Australian Government guidelines require a PCR test in hospital or testing facility.
